CONTRA COSTA, CA — September 26, 2025 — The Reedley College Tigers volleyball team showcased dominance and discipline on Friday, sweeping two opponents in straight sets at the Contra Costa Classic. Reedley opened the afternoon with a commanding 3–0 win over Skyline College, then followed it up with another 3–0 sweep against the College of the Siskiyous.
While Reedley's match stats were not individually reported, the Tigers' overwhelming set scores and their opponents' struggles painted a clear picture: Reedley was in complete control from the first serve to the final point.
Match 1: Reedley 3, Skyline 0 (25–18, 25–6, 25–8)
Reedley set the tone early with a balanced and efficient performance in the opener. Skyline struggled offensively throughout, hitting just -.068 as a team and recording more errors (19) than kills (13).
The second set was particularly lopsided, with Skyline managing just 1 kill and 8 errors on 25 attempts for a hitting percentage of -.280. Reedley, meanwhile, rolled through each rotation, taking advantage of Skyline's miscues and struggling serve-receive game.
Skyline's Angelina Yeakley and Nevaeh Davidson each contributed 3 kills, but no player hit over .300. Reedley didn't need to light up the stat sheet—Skyline effectively defeated themselves with unforced errors.
Match 2: Reedley 3, Siskiyous 0 (25–13, 25–23, 25–23)
Reedley faced stiffer resistance in their second match of the day, especially in sets two and three, but still walked away with another straight-set victory.
Siskiyous made improvements offensively, finishing with a team hitting percentage of .058. Heitiare Moala led the Eagles with 12 kills on 40 attempts, while Sadie Graviet added 8 kills and hit a solid .296. Despite these individual efforts, Siskiyous couldn't overcome Reedley's consistency and timely scoring runs.
Back-to-back 25–23 sets showed that the Tigers can stay composed under pressure—a promising sign as conference play looms.
Reedley's Quiet Confidence
While individual statistics for Reedley weren't reported in either match, their results speak volumes. In two matches, Reedley never allowed more than 25 points in a single set and conceded just 48 total points to Skyline and 59 to Siskiyous.
Even without standout stat lines, Reedley's ability to maintain rhythm, limit their own errors, and capitalize on opponents' mistakes suggests a team firing on all cylinders. Their defense forced 40 combined attack errors across both matches.
What's Next
With the two sweeps, Reedley moves to a promising spot in regional standings and builds momentum heading into October. If they continue this form—executing cleanly and applying pressure early—they'll be a team to watch throughout the remainder of the season.
