Reedley College Men’s Golf Off to Historic Start in 2026 Season

Reedley, CA.

The Reedley College men's golf team has opened the 2026 season in dominant fashion, racing out to a perfect 22–0 overall record while capturing eight consecutive tournament victories through early March.

Behind a balanced lineup featuring both talented freshmen and experienced sophomores, the Tigers have consistently produced low scores and strong finishes while building a commanding lead in the Big 8 Conference standings.

Historic Opening and Early Momentum

Reedley began the season on February 2 at Pheasant Run Golf Course in Chowchilla with a performance that immediately set the tone for the year. The Tigers fired a team score of 281 (-7)—the best opening-round score in program history—to win a three-team match against Modesto Junior College and Napa Valley.

Freshman Marco Woehler led the way with a 3-under-par 69, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 18th hole. Fellow freshman Dante Damico posted a bogey-free 70, while Leo Eisner and Brecht Hulsman added solid rounds to complete the dominant start.

Two days later, Reedley continued its momentum in a dual match victory over Taft College, winning by 60 strokes. Sophomore Brecht Hulsman captured his first collegiate medalist honor with a 2-under-par 70, while Brady Foster and Marco Woehler each shot 71.

Conference Play Dominance

The Tigers carried that momentum into conference play and quickly established themselves as the team to beat in the Big 8 Conference.

At Conference Tournament #1 at Del Rio Country Club in Modesto, Reedley posted a 297 (+9) to finish first among eight teams. Sophomore Julian Rombouts paced the Tigers with a 73, finishing second overall, while Reedley placed three players among the top four in the tournament standings.

The team followed that performance with another win at Conference Tournament #2 at Copper River Country Club in Fresno. Despite cold, windy, and rainy conditions, Reedley shot 305 and won the event by 23 strokes. Hulsman delivered a standout performance with an even-par 72, earning medalist honors by five shots.

One day later at Conference Tournament #3 at Buena Vista Golf Course, the Tigers again finished on top, posting 289 (+1). Foster captured medalist honors with a 71, while Rombouts, Eisner, and Coaton Campbell all contributed rounds in the low 70s.

Success Beyond the Conference

Reedley has also proven its strength against top competition outside the conference.

At the Eagle Invitational in San Jacinto, the Tigers defeated a strong 10-team field with a 295 (+7) team score. Freshman Leo Eisner led the charge with an even-par 72, finishing second in a 65-player field.

Later in February, Reedley traveled to Southern California for the prestigious Riverside City College Tiger Invitational, widely considered one of the strongest regular-season events in the state. Competing against 15 teams and a 100-player field, the Tigers captured the championship with a 289 (+1) team score. Rombouts led the team with a 71, finishing second overall, while Hulsman, Foster, and Woehler all placed inside the top ten.

Continued Excellence in Conference Play

Reedley extended its conference dominance in Conference Tournament #4 at Half Moon Bay Golf Links, winning by 17 strokes with a 295 (+7). Rombouts earned medalist honors with an even-par 72, while Hulsman and Foster finished close behind.

The Tigers then produced another historic performance at Conference Tournament #5 on their home course at Ridge Creek Golf Club. Reedley shot a 283 (-5)—the lowest team score ever recorded by the program at Ridge Creek—to win by 19 strokes.

Freshman Leo Eisner earned medalist honors with a brilliant 68 (-4), recording six birdies during his round. Hulsman finished second with a 71, while Woehler and Foster added rounds of 72.

Depth Driving the Tigers' Success

A key factor in Reedley's undefeated start has been the team's remarkable depth. Multiple players have earned medalist honors throughout the season, and nearly every event has featured different Tigers leading the scoring.

Standout contributors so far include:

  • Leo Eisner (Fr.) – medalist at Ridge Creek with a 68 and multiple top finishes

  • Brecht Hulsman (So.) – conference medalist and consistent low scorer

  • Julian Rombouts (So.) – medalist and frequent top-three finisher

  • Brady Foster (So.) – medalist at Buena Vista with exceptional greens-in-regulation numbers

  • Marco Woehler (Fr.) – strong debut season with multiple sub-par rounds

The Tigers have also excelled statistically, consistently hitting high percentages of fairways and greens in regulation while producing impressive birdie totals in nearly every event.

Looking Ahead

With five conference tournaments completed, Reedley sits firmly atop the Big 8 Conference standings with 40 points, holding a 12-point lead over Fresno City College. The Tigers have also claimed every tournament they have entered this season.

As the schedule moves deeper into the spring, Reedley will look to maintain its undefeated run while preparing for the postseason stretch.

If the early results are any indication, the 2026 Tigers are shaping up to be one of the most successful teams in program history.
