The Tigers traveled south on Highway 99 about 2 hours and 15 minutes to Taft to play Big 8 Conference Tournament #5 at Buena Vista Golf Course.  Weather forecasters had called for cloudy conditions with some wind and possibly rain late in the day, but the Tigers played exceptional team golf on the afternoon despite the unfavorable conditions.  The Tigers shot a team score of 349 (-11), the 2^nd best team score in Conference history, and all 6 Tiger golfers posted scores of 73 or better!  The Tigers won the tournament by 13 shots over 2^nd place Fresno City despite the Rams shooting by far their best round of the season, 362 (+2).  Leading the way for the Tigers and shooting a round of 67 (-5) was Preston Harris, who had 7 Birdies on the day.  Preston has now shot -16 in Conference in the last 3 rounds played! Next was Elias Pettersson, who posted a round of 69 (-3), making 4 Birdies and only 1 Bogey on the day.  Elias made 14 Pars on the day as well.  Chase Bird and Josh Bennett both fired very solid rounds of 70, and displayed the tremendous depth this Tiger team has. Finally, both Jack Peters and Preston Castleton carded 73's to complete the Tigers' team score on the afternoon.  The Tigers made 24 Birdies on the day as a team, and putted extremely well all afternoon. The Tigers also hit a lot of fairways (58%) and greens in regulation (81%), and played nearly error free golf!  The Tigers now have an overall record of 36-2 on the season, including 33-2 in the Big 8 Conference, and have an 8 point lead in the overall standings.
