On a sunny, beautiful and fairly calm afternoon in the South Bay Area town of Gilroy, the Tigers came out and played a very efficient round of team golf at Eagle Ridge Golf Club for Big 8 Conference Tournament #11. Reedley posted a team score of 379, 19 shots over par for the five counting scores, and displayed the great depth and talent the Tigers have in their starting lineup! Leading the way was Chase Bird, who shot a fantastic round of Even par 72, and allowed him to capture Medalist Honors on the day. It was Chase's 1st career Collegiate Victory, and the 2nd straight honor for the Tigers. Preston Harris posted a very solid round of 74, coming in 4th place Individually. Elias Pettersson and Josh Bennett both carded rounds of 77. Preston Castleton shot a 79 to cap the scoring for the Tigers. The Tigers five scorers were in the top 12 overall for the tournament, and enabled them to come away with the tournament victory, and more importantly, clinch the Big 8 Conference Championship for the 9TH CONSECUTIVE season, dating back to the 2015 season!!! The Tigers now have an overall record of 75-5 on the season, including 72-5 in the Big 8. The Tigers play at Madera Golf and Country Club on Monday for Conference Tournament #12. Fresno City College will be the host school for this neutral site event. A 12:00 noon shotgun start is scheduled in Madera at this terrific valley venue, which opened in 1953, so is approximately 71 years old, and has lasted the test of time!
